Guy lines on the poles, many with attachment loops designed to wrap around pole or pole crossing points, and on the vent cover, increase stability in poor conditions.
Adjustable roof vent can be closed with a snow- proof panel, and is accessible from inside the tent.
Large flaps protect zippers from the rain.
In 2014, Justine Curgenven and Sarah Outen paddled 2500 km (1550 mile) while traversing the Aleutian Islands. Over 101 days, they made multiple long crossings and encountered many days of high winds and rain, and they relied on their Tarra as home. “I’ve used the same Tarra for both my 1600 plus km (1000 mile) paddle around Isla Grande in Tierra del Fuego and in the Aleutians,” says Justine. “It’s got well over 200 nights in the field and it’s still going strong. It is a wonderful snug, dry tent.” Photo: Justine Curgenven (cackletv.com).

Tarra awards
2011, 2014 & 2016
USA’s Outdoor Gear Lab named the Tarra Top Pick in a review of 4 season tents, praising its “fortress-like strength, [ease of] setup, two gigantic vestibules [and] great ventilation,” and proclaiming that “the Tarra is the strongest two-person tent we’ve ever tested.”
2001
J Linked but separable inner and outer tent for simul- taneous pitching.
J Self-supporting dome design requires only the vestibules to be pegged, and the straightforward short sleeve and clip pole system make for quick, easy set up.
J Dual entrances and vestibules ensure that one door can always be situated out of the wind and provide flexible entry/exit and storage options.

An optional footprint covers the entire area of the outer tent, including the vestibules. It connects directly to the tent, and can be left attached dur- ing pitching.
The outer and inner tents can be used separately. Pitching the inner tent alone requires the optional Tarra pitching kit (sold separately; see page 80).
The German outdoor magazine Outdoor called the Tarra an “absolutely perfect geodesic” tent.
